A British 1888 Lee Metford Bayonet Mk1 Type 2, Mole

A British 1888 Lee Metford Bayonet Mk1 Type 2, by the maker Mole, with a Standard MK1 Scabbard. The bayonet is in overall very good condition, the pommel and grips are undamaged with the correct rivets for the grip, The blade is in very nice condition with only minor marks, The ricasso on one side is maker with the makers name Mole, underneath 11/95 for November 1895, the other side of the ricasso has the Royal Chypher, acceptance marks and the X Bending mark. The pommel is marked with the number 14. The Scabbard has accpetance marks on the Metal Chape 'Crown/35/W' and on the reverse of the leather scabbard is marked with a 'broad arrow and WD' with acceptance stamps. The wood grip has been personalised with the Initials HMC.  Bayonet lug in working order. A nice example of a scarcer maker of the type. VG++++ Condition
