A French Foreign Legion 4th Battalion 1st Infantry Regt Badge. The Badge is in excellent overall condition with no damage to the enamel. the reverse show the makers mark DRAGO 25 R. Beranger Paris, on the bottom of the badge is DEPOSE and JD, with DRAGO PARIS NICE on the central disc for the pin attachement. Please refer to Collecting French Foreign Legion Insignia Volume 1 on Page 22-23. by Andrew Mitchell.
The badge was issued for service in Syria pre WW2, there were four grades produced, Bronze for legionnaires, silver plated for NCO's, Gold Plated fos Officers and a solid silver silver version does also exsist. a Lovely badge to have.
