A Group of WW1 French Award Documents to a Sergeant Pierre Henri Sally of the 82nd Infantry Regt, the documents themselves are in VG+++ condition with some foxing with is expected with the age. There are three Croix de Guerre awards, one Medal Miltiaire and one for the wounded red star medal.

 

The documents citiations read as below:

 

1. This Sub officer was very brave. by his example and his courage he maintained his half section in place under very violent fire on 24 March 1918.

 

2. This Sub officer did show great courage, didn’t hesitate on 18 July 1918 to go scout a passage under the barbed wires under violent fire and machine guns.

 

3. This Sub officer was courageous and devoted. He made numerous patrols day and night to preserve contact with the ennemy on 5, 6, 7, 8 October 1918. By doing so, he enabled the progression on the company.

 

4. By decree on 8 November 1029, considering the declaration of the council of the order of the honor legion, comform to the laws, decress and rule currently in place, the military medal without treatment has been given to the reserve military with the following names: Sally Pierre Henri.

 

Sergeant Henri Sally has the right to bear the ribbon with red enameled star, which is the special insigna for the war wounded during the current campaign against Germany and its allies.
