SKU: dw440
฿0.00Price

An Extremely Rare Siam (Thailand) WW1 Victory Medal, in very nice condition, with original ribbon. The Finer details on the obverse are rubbed as can be see from the images but the reverse has only minor rubbing to the high pointed detail . The Obverse of the medal shows Narayana, which is the Thai equivalent of Vishnu the God of War riding on a Garuda bird, with the reverse bearing the Thai script for ' The Great War For Civilisation' with lotus decorated border. I guarantee this medal to be an original issue of the period.

The Siamese army numbered 1295, which included a motor transport Corps, Aviation Corps and medical unit, they departed Siam on the 20 June 1918 and arived in Marseille on the 30th July 1918. The Victory Medal was issued to all Volunteers who had served in the Siam Expeditionary Force in 1921. There are a vast amount of copies out there of the this medal, but this is not one. A great oppourtunity to own one of these rare medals.
